San Antonio Homeowners Trust SERVPRO® with Mold Remediation

Professional mold restoration involves identifying, containing, and removing mold from a contaminated area. SERVPRO techs use IICRC guidelines during mold remediation of your San Antonio home to limit the extent of the damage.

SERVPRO techs meticulously plan the mold remediation of your San Antonio home to make the process thorough, effective, and safe. We aim to limit the spread of airborne mold fragments and spores to unaffected areas of the building.

Restoring Mold Damage in HVAC Systems

Mold damage in HVAC systems can be particularly challenging to remediate, as mold spores can quickly spread throughout the building through the system. SERVPRO techs use specialized techniques to clean mold damage in HVAC systems.

Here are some of the steps they typically take:

  • Inspection: The first step in cleaning mold contamination in HVAC systems is to thoroughly inspect the system to identify areas of mold growth and assess the extent of the damage. It involves SERVPRO techs conducting visual inspections, air sampling, and surface sampling.
  • Containment: Techs often establish containment barriers around the affected areas and use negative air pressure to contain mold spores released during cleaning.
  • Cleaning: After the affected areas are contained, SERVPRO mold specialists begin cleaning. It typically involves using specialized equipment and cleaning solutions to remove mold growth from the HVAC system. It may include HEPA vacuuming, antimicrobial cleaning, and air duct cleaning.

Preventing Mold Damage

SERVPRO techs recommend preventative measures such as regular HVAC cleaning and maintenance, humidity control, and air filtration to prevent future mold growth in VAC systems.

You must seek help from professional restorers as quickly as possible if you suspect mold growth in your home to prevent the contamination from spreading.

SERVPRO of Braun Station is only a click away. Our team of technicians is available round-the-clock to assist you with any questions you may have.

Mold Damage Cannot Wait if Suspected in Your San Antonio Home

Mold damage on a white wall Count on the professionals at SERVPRO if you find mold damage in your San Antonio home.

Never Trust Mold Damage Cleanup to Anyone but SERVPRO in San Antonio

Mold infestation is the type of problem you rarely see coming. You may expect to spot a bit of mold around your bathtub or shower, but if you start to see issues on your ceilings or walls, that is a much bigger problem. Unfortunately, mold remediation is a challenging and daunting process that is never smart for a DIY project. Due to the effects of black mold, having the pros at SERVPRO come to your San Antonio property is the safest, most effective option. We will always make it Certified: SERVPRO Cleaned!

Why contact SERVPRO for help with mold damage in San Antonio? Because we have the training, equipment, and experience to get, the job done right the first time. You should contact us for mold cleanup if:

  • You start spotting mold development on your ceilings, walls, or under the bathroom or kitchen cabinets
  • There is a pervasive musty-type odor within your home
  • Your interior is relatively humid, or there have been several plumbing issues

Why is Mold Remediation So Challenging?

There are also countless types of mold growing inside and outdoors. All mold spores require the same elements to fester and colonize; organic materials and moisture. Homes are loaded with organic materials like wood, carpeting, paper, cotton, etc. However, the real catalyst in any mold situation is moisture. This is why so many bathrooms succumb to mildew and mold issues.

Mold remediation is exceptionally challenging for a couple of reasons. One reason is that mold can be hard to find, especially if there is a hidden plumbing leak. The other is that spores are both airborne and microscopic. These tiny spores can latch onto your hair, clothing, pets, and anything else that comes into your home. This is why it is better to have pros onsite and ready to handle all cleaning the proper way – never causing more of an issue by inadvertently disturbing mold so it travels to unimpacted areas of your home.

Why is SERVPRO the Team to Call for Mold Restoration?

We feature highly-trained IICRC-certified technicians with plenty of experience with mold projects. Our crew knows mold’s behavior, how to clean it safely, and keep it from coming back inside your home or business. The process generally includes the following:

  • The identification of the moisture source, which is usually a plumbing issue that we must address before cleaning mold.
  • We assess impacted areas to determine how far mold began to spread along with salvageable items and materials. Porous things like ceiling tiles and carpeting usually always require disposal.
  • We clean mold infestations from your home, including patches under carpeting, above ceiling panels, under cabinetry, and behind walls.

We want all of our San Antonio customers to know that there are ways to prevent mold from coming back in the future. You can start by keeping your interior humidity levels low, no higher than 50%. Ensure you have enough ventilation and fix any known leaks with your plumbing, walls, or roof. Should you have a water spill, we also suggest calling our water mitigation team to handle it. However, if you DIY, remove and replace carpeting or upholstery that has been soaked and you cannot dry it out properly.

Nobody gets the cleanup and restoration done quite like SERVPRO of Braun Station when it comes to mold damage. Call us at (210) 267-2159 for assistance!

Mold Removal in San Antonio is Efficient with Experts

Mold spores are microscopic organisms naturally found on almost every surface, outdoors or indoors. Complete removal of mold and its spores from your house is virtually impossible. Hence the term mold remediation means that the right company to contact after discovering mold in your home promises a highly efficient mold remediation process, not perfect removal.

When you discover mold has invaded your home, you are safer contacting SERVPRO since we have the expertise and training necessary to remove mold in San Antonio homes. We can get you up on your feet in the shortest time possible. Our primary focus is bringing mold levels into natural levels to a place unaffected by excess moisture.

To ensure our services to our clients are always top-notch, SERVPRO technicians are highly trained. Our qualifications include the following:

  • We are certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC) after training on the best practices and mold remediation standards.
  • We offer initial training to new employees after joining the franchise to familiarize them with our operational procedures.
  • We provide Voluntary Employee Certification Training for our employees.
  • We offer E-learning to ensure our technicians are at par with the professional qualities and industrial standards required of us.

At SERVPRO, we use a combination of approaches to get a house to its preloss condition, depending on the situation, under the guidance of EPA regulations and the ANSI/IICRC S520. Ineffective mold treatment can happen with the use of biocide and chlorine solutions. Our team can use plant-based enzymatic products that the EPA has registered. We also introduce several environmental controls, like the erection of plastic sheeting around the affected area to avoid contaminating the unaffected areas.

SERVPRO’s unconventional approach toward mold removal enhances efficiency, fast action, and directness. Our approach provides the best version of what our clients expect from us when they contact us. By the end of our work, your home can have a fresher environment.

Why SERVPRO Provides Peace of Mind During Flood Damage Cleanup in San Antonio

When flash flooding impacts your San Antonio home, you need a fast response, not a shopping list of equipment, cleaners, and disinfectants. Mitigating and remediating the harm from floodwaters invading your lower levels, foundation, or crawl space requires both specialized training and the tools of the disaster restoration trade. These requirements are why new and returning customers seek out our services.

Safety During Flooding Response

Because mud, silt, other debris, infectious waste, chemicals, and dead animals and insects can contaminate your San Antonio home during flood damage, numerous safeguards must be in place during cleanup. First and foremost, the water of any category presents a hazard. Slips and falls, electrical shock, and even drowning are possible if responders are not prepared with a comprehensive understanding of the risks when wading into floodwaters. Illness and reactions to pathogens and chemical agents swept into your home are a significant source of concern. The need to follow the restoration industry best practices is critical. Our familiarity with and commitment to utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper containment, removal, and disposal protocol are why we can deliver rapid results that meet or exceed local regulations and standards.

Comprehensive Understanding of Psychrometry

The science of drying or psychrometry is the foundation of our work in the flood recovery industry. If the principles of psychrometry are poorly understood or research-based protocols are not followed, the progressive deterioration of building materials is inevitable, and secondary damage like mold outbreaks are probable. Our employees’ mastery of the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) coursework on flood damage mitigation and remediation is why SERVPRO is an industry leader. Every phase in our assessment and project planning process is grounded in a firm grasp of the current drying theories standardized by the IICRC. The steps our certified technicians take to complete the multitude of tasks needed to make it “Like it never even happened” are carefully prioritized and completed professionally.

Flood Damage Recovery for Both Structure and Contents

Our full-spectrum range of services includes specialized evaluation, scoping, and strategies for flood damage to your house and also to the furnishings, household goods, and personal possessions that make it a home. Providing solutions to flooding damage that embraces both building materials and contents is why SERVPRO is a trusted disaster partner in the region.

The Role of Restoration in San Antonio Homes with Water Damage

5/16/2022 (Permalink)

a puddle of water on the hardwood floor of an apartment Dealing with water damage in the home can be overwhelming. Contact SERVPRO for certified technicians and effective water removal and drying equipment.

SERVPRO Offers Expert Water Cleanup Services

The process of dealing with property water damages is split into three categories. In the case of water intrusion, these categories are usually emergency mitigation, cleaning, and then restoration. Each of these categories is not mutually exclusive, meaning that sometimes drying a property or cleaning it can be sufficient to return it to its preloss condition.

An insurance adjuster decides the role of restoration for water damage in your San Antonio home. Our role as restoration technicians is to ensure that your home suffers minimal losses and return the property to you "Like it never even happened." Cleaning and drying wet structures or possessions are examples of our mitigation activities to reduce losses. Not all wet items need to be replaced, and, with the right equipment, many soft furnishings, textiles, and belongings can return to a good condition. However, in some situations, parts of the property may be deemed non-salvageable, in which case SERVPRO can arrange and install replacements. As water restoration providers, we can help with:

  • Ceiling leaks
  • Water mitigation
  • Water restoration

The types of activity classed as restoration by your insurance adjuster could include refinishing surfaces, replacing some of the building assembly, or replacing the ductwork in your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. High-value, good-quality items such as solid wood flooring are good candidates for restoration because they would be expensive to replace and are often resilient enough to withstand exposure to moisture. Cheap materials may also be returned due to their low cost and low resilience. These replacements are very common in water intrusion events, including drywall or carpet pads. The carpeting in your property can often be expensive and time-consuming to replace. At SERVPRO, we have a tiered showcase cleaning system that can help return these items to preloss condition through cleaning and mitigation.

  • During restoration, special services are available, including installing vapor barriers or replacing old insulation.
  • Electrical outlets can often be replaced on ceiling fans, light fixtures, or other parts of the home's electric circuit.
  • Sanding down cupped or warped floorboards before refinishing is another example of restoration activities.

If your home suffers from water intrusion, contact SERVPRO of Braun Station for water damage restoration at (210) 267-2159.

How to Take the Headache Out of San Antonio Flood Damage Remediation

5/16/2022 (Permalink)

mold growing in the corner of the room on the ceiling and walls Has your home been affected by flooding? Team SERVPRO is standing by with efficient equipment and technicians who can help with your situation.

Why SERVPRO is the Flood Damage Remediation Go-To in San Antonio

Intense flooding is common in the San Antonio region, encouraged by the collision of moist, warm air from the Gulf with cooler air from the north. The air masses mix and often heavy rain results. The city’s location south of the Hill Country adds the concentration of the rain runoff from higher elevations to the situation. If your home finds itself in the path of one of the region’s flash floods you soon discover why we are a local flood remediation leader.

Since we live, work, and established our business in the area, we are extremely familiar with flood damage in San Antonio. More importantly, we commit to responding to flood calls fast and with a full complement of highly-qualified technicians and state of the art equipment. Our dedication and commitment to restoration best practices are why we deliver successful results even when the flooding is severe.

Flood damages can have long-term results when not mitigated swiftly. The structural integrity of your home can be compromised if the waters flowed in with great force. Water allowed to remain standing for longer than 24 to 48 hours exposes your home to the risk of mold damage. Years of experience and advanced training in flood damage restoration explains why SERVPRO is Faster to any size disaster, especially when it involves flood devastation.

Investment in skilled crewmembers and the most efficient equipment is why SERVPRO flood restoration projects resolve quickly and successfully. High-efficiency water extractors and pumps move the water out, and then air movers, heaters, and dehumidifiers take center stage for structural drying. IICRC-trained technicians operate the equipment flawlessly, adjusting as needed to achieve the results desired.

Pack-outs of flooding scenes contribute to excellent outcomes. Water and debris removal and drying are easier in homes cleared of contents. The skill of our production facility technicians is why SERVPRO can surprise and delight customers who feared precious heirlooms, mementos, pictures, and documents were ruined. Document freeze-drying, specialized soft-article cleaning strategies, controlled thermal drying of furnishings, and immersion cleaning tanks are just a sampling of the strategies we use to return your life to normal after flooding.

SERVPRO of Braun Station awaits your call and pledges its best effort when flooding devastates your home. Call us at (210) 267-2159 day or night year round.

What Are Some Major Considerations During Mold Remediation in San Antonio Homes?

11/8/2021 (Permalink)

mold growth on walls and ceiling SERVPRO can repair the water leak and remediate the mold damage in this San Antonio home

SERVPRO Strives to Limit Mold from Spreading or Endangering People During Remediation

Mold can develop all over your San Antonio home or in limited sections such as the bathroom or kitchen. Whatever the case, finding an appropriate remediation approach is essential for convenience and better outcomes. Involving an experienced restorer may give you the best results.

Mold remediation in San Antonio properties requires sufficient control. Otherwise, many unexpected problems can arise. For example, although initially limited, contamination can spread throughout the house if handled wrongly. SERVPRO can help you accomplish the desired goals since we make serious deliberation before taking any step.

Some of the essential precautions our technicians take include:

  • Using remediation methods that do not worsen the problem
  • Choosing approaches that do not endanger people
  • Establishing the root of the problem before concluding restoration

Every case of mold development is usually tied to moisture accumulation in the property. Using the most sophisticated cleaning methods or replacing all affected materials can only provide temporary relief if the moisture issue is not addressed. Our SERVPRO technicians ensure this by checking for pipe or roof leaks. We also use thermal cameras to locate hidden moisture in cavities and thermo-hygrometers to confirm humidity levels in different house sections.

When doing remediation, the safety of everyone involved is crucial. Otherwise, the problem might evolve from house damage to personal harm. The contamination might also spread from the initial locations. Our SERVPRO technicians set up containment barriers using 6-mil plastic sheets to prevent debris from spreading into the air while we demolish affected areas. We also establish negative air pressure in the contained areas.

SERVPRO of Braun Station takes mold remediation with the seriousness it deserves, thus resolving any level of contamination, “Like it never even happened.” Call us at (210) 267-2159.

The Importance of a Game Plan for Water Removal in San Antonio

Coming home to a flooded property can cause homeowners to phone the first available supplier. These are high-pressure situations, and, ultimately, a professional who can arrive quickly is the priority for a homeowner. However, using a provider who lacks the necessary expertise could result in longer-term problems than you may have expected, causing unnecessary time and expense.

Carrying out water removal in San Antonio begins with a phone call. At SERVPRO, we operate our call lines 24 hours a day so that residents in need can always reach out to us. Our technicians are all local to this area which reduces the amount of time you need to wait. As a national franchise, we can mobilize the resources to get you home back "Like it never even happened."

Equipment for Water Removal

The process of getting rid of standing water involves deploying submersible gas-powered pumps. SERVPRO uses this equipment for any standing water issue that exceeds two inches. These pumps can be handy and remove water to a nearby open sewer point. After removing the excess pooling, we can take a more accurate approach to remove moisture and dry saturated carpets, subfloors, and wall cavities.

Portable or truck-mounted extraction units are especially useful in home environments because they do not damage existing fittings which may become weaker when wet. These units contain heating elements, vacuum power, and agile wands to ensure we can dry areas thoroughly that may be smaller or difficult to access.

The final steps of our process are to deploy a combination of rapid air movers and desiccant dehumidifiers. The two-step solution works by first evaporating moisture into the air and then pulling the evaporated moisture out of the air to restore the natural humidity levels. It is the final step in a tried and tested formula that has helped hundreds of homeowners deal with water removal, cleanup, and repair.

A game plan is an essential part of a proper restoration service. Contact SERVPRO of Braun Station at (210) 267-2159 to find out why.

Mold Containment in Damaged San Antonio Homes

As alarming as this might be for San Antonio homeowners, the best solution is to act quickly with microbial or fungal growth. Securing the right professionals to remove an active colony ensures that the entire organism gets removed as it should. It can also help make certain appropriate measures to prevent recurrences in the immediate future. This effective strategy begins with containment solutions designed to prevent the active spores from moving to new areas of your home and colonizing.

Once you have discovered mold damage in your San Antonio residence, you can often trust that the situation is worse than what you can see with your eyes. Our SERVPRO professionals can arrive quickly at the discovery of mold to help identify the full spread of the organism and begin installing the containment barriers and setting up equipment designed to prevent their spread to new areas of your house. Containment helps to make remediation much faster and effective.

Mold Removal

With a significant spread of damage throughout the property, removal is often the most effective solution to take care of active colonization in areas of your home. Our SERVPRO professionals can utilize controlled demolition techniques within the containment area to not only prevent the spread of debris and dust but keep any circulating spores within the thick plastic sheeting installed around the area.

Additionally, we can use several tools to help purify the air and reduce the volume of active spores through this affected area of your home. Our air scrubbers and hydroxyl generators both work to pull particulates, dust, debris, and even mold spores from the air and trap them in a filter. We allow these machines to run for extended periods, even sometimes outside of the containment areas, to improve the indoor air quality before environmental testing occurs to determine the effectiveness of our mold remediation.

Should you discover mold growth in your home, you might not immediately know what you should do. To prevent unnecessary tear-out and reconstruction, call our experienced SERVPRO of Braun Station mold remediation technicians as soon as possible at (210) 267-2159.

The crucial aspect of conducting fire restoration is to pre-test materials in the house. Smoke can have unique properties which do not respond to all types of cleaning agent or technique. By pre-testing soiling in the home, we can ensure that our restoration causes minimal damage to your home and increases repair efficiency. We work closely with insurance adjusters to produce a timely quote and communicate with you throughout service to minimize inconvenience.

  • SERVPRO customer services are available 24/7 to ensure you can arrange a call-out at any time. Technicians live in the local area and have experience dealing with site-specific residential architectures.
  • We offer a range of specialty cleaning and restoration services that could help mitigate losses to artwork, electronics, and textiles.
  • Our crew chiefs have extensive experience working in residential properties around San Antonio and can arrive on-site within four hours of notification of loss.

Why Homeowners Need a Mold Remediation Company with Realistic Expectations

10/15/2020 (Permalink)

air scrubber and wet vac at work Air scrubbers help to remediate mold damage in San Antonio homes. SERVPRO provides advanced equipment--Why Not Call the Premier Company?

San Antonio Residents Need Good, Honest Mold Remediation

We live in a world of big promises and over-hyped marketing messages in San Antonio and all across the country. The wealth of information out there about any and every topic can be overwhelming.

When you require mold remediation in your San Antonio home, you need a company that makes and keeps its promises. You also want realistic expectations of what can happen and the likely outcome.

What is the difference between mold removal and mold remediation?

Some mold remediation companies advertise "mold removal." However, complete mold removal is not possible. The fungi occur naturally throughout nature, and the spores are microscopic, so you cannot see them. The tiny spores can bloom and develop into a mold colony as they have a food source, moisture, oxygen, and the correct temperature. Mold can grow in many places both indoors and outdoors, including:

  • On trees and plants
  • On spoiled food such as cheese or vegetables
  • On multiple materials throughout your home, including wood, wallpaper, drywall, and carpets

Mold forms colonies known as mycelium. Mycelium is a cluster of hair-like cells called hyphae. Each mycelium can release new mold spores, which drift throughout your home, looking for other places to grow. If they find a new site that meets all the criteria, they can start a new colony.

Because the spores are naturally occurring and so small that they can travel on the air or clothes or pet fur, it is impossible to stop mold from coming back. However, we can take steps to make your home less hospitable to fungus and reduce the risk of a recurrence.

What can SERVPRO do to reduce the risk of reinfestations?

Although no one can prevent mold from coming back, there are actions we can do to reduce the risk of a return visit:

  • Thoroughly drying the area. Mold loves moisture, so we dry out the walls, baseboards, ceiling, upholstery, and furniture. This is a quick way to prevent it from regrowing.
  • Lowering the humidity. We can use dehumidifiers to reduce the air's humidity, so there is less moisture available for fungal growth.
  • Using antimicrobial treatments on hard surfaces to kill fungus and prevent regrowth for up to four weeks.
  • Setting up containment and using a negative air machine to prevent air flowing out of the affected area, thus making it harder for spores to move throughout your home.

What about black mold?

If you look up anything about mold online, you are sure to find lots of horrifying information about black mold. Here at SERVPRO, we do not believe in fear-mongering. Stachybotrys chartarum is the fungus most commonly referred to as black mold, and although mold can cause health effects, please do not panic if you see it in your home. It is a common mold, and remediation works as well for Stachybotrys as it does for every other kind of mold species.

The important thing is to call SERVPRO of Braun Station as soon as you see or smell mold in your home. We're Faster To Any Size Disaster, and the quicker we can begin remediation, the less risk of the spores spreading.

What makes SERVPRO the right choice?

If you need mold remediation you can rely on, choose SERVPRO because:

  • We invest in training our technicians and provide ongoing e-learning opportunities to keep them up to speed with the latest industry standards and processes
  • We do not make unrealistic promises about total mold removal
  • We carry out mold inspection using scientific instruments for accurate data readings
  • We are a locally owned Franchise that cares about our community, with access to national resources to give you the very best in mold remediation

How can you know what to expect during remediation?

We keep you in the loop at all times – we do not do anything without your permission. If we need to set up containment, switch off your HVAC, or remove items from a room, you are informed of the necessary actions. We ensure you agree with our cleaning plan before we begin, and we conduct a walkthrough with you at the end of remediation. We also check in with you a week later to tackle any further concerns, should they arise.

What will your home look like after mold remediation?

We aim to leave your home looking "Like it never even happened." After we deal with the mold infestation, we can partner with additional contractors to build back or re-decorating if necessary. We also bring in air scrubbers and carbon filters to deodorize your home and get rid of the moldy smell.

If you need a mold remediation company you can rely on, call SERVPRO of Braun Station at (210) 267-2159.

What Type of Pump Does Your San Antonio Home Need After a Flood?

9/2/2020 (Permalink)

"Flood zone" After your home suffers flood damage, you need a team of professionals to assist you with cleanup. Call SERVPRO right away! We are always available.

With many extractors at our disposal, we customize mitigation and flood removal to the severity and spread of each disaster.

Addressing the emergency as quickly as possible ensures that flooding scenarios affecting San Antonio homes do not have to be total losses. Our SERVPRO of Braun Station professionals have loaded, pre-stocked READY trailers and production vehicles ready to mobilize with the extraction, cleaning, and drying equipment necessary to gain control of a flood damage emergency. As a leading flood restoration company in Bexar County, our fast response can help us remove standing water in ranch-style homes before irreparable flooring, and wall system damage occurs.

Floodwater removal in San Antonio properties is one of the primary focuses of our responding technicians after a disaster. Eliminating standing water slows the absorption into flooring and other exposed materials and contents.

Is a Trash Pump the Best Option for Flood Damage?

Choosing the right flood removal tool is vital for this process, as some of the common choices like electric submersible pumps might not be best suited for natural flooding conditions in a house. Trash pumps are often the ideal choice for several reasons:

  •     Gas-Powered – Available power is a point of concern for technicians after flooding. Having pumps that do not require the trailered generator means more work that can be happening with electric-powered equipment in the house while extraction continues.
  •     Portable – Even though trash pumps are much weightier than electric submersibles or wet vacuums, they are still portable units that can be relocated multiple times.
  •     Passable Solids – Natural flooding introduces solids to the property that electric submersibles cannot remove. With a larger intake and output, smaller debris can get extracted along with the standing water.

Removing floodwater is a process that requires the right tools and experienced professionals. You can reach our SERVPRO of Braun Station team 24/7 by calling (210) 267-2159.

Water Heater Leaks in San Antonio? Call SERVPRO!

1/15/2020 (Permalink)

leaking water heater Water heater failures can cause water damage quickly. Inspect your water heater often for signs of rust and leaking.

Water Damage Recovery after a Malfunctioning Water Heater Leaks in your San Antonio Home

Many Texans switch their heating on from November through to early March to keep out the winter chills. But a malfunctioning heater could expose your home to water-related incidents. Water heaters are generally built to last decades of high usage since they can be costly to replace. However, with the sheer volume of water passing through a heater during the winter months can cause year on year corrosion of the steel storage tanks. When these leak inside an airing or heating closet, they can cause significant amounts of harm to your property.

A heater with corrosion can start to leak over time, leading to water damage in parts of your San Antonio home. The likelihood of tanks bursting increases when there is steel corrosion, which can have a sizable impact. Performing regular maintenance checks and replacing the anode rod inside your water heater when necessary is the best way of avoiding water emergencies. However, accidents do happen, in which case you should have a firm backup plan in place to limit the losses to your property's structure.

One potential challenge SERVPRO technicians have in restoring structure around a large appliance is restrictive access. Typically, heating systems are built into closets or small enclosures out of the way of the main rooms in your house. These enclosed areas increase water migration because water builds up in a concentrated area, which can lead to water problems inside the cavities of your home.

Water restoration technicians with experience can duct seal the enclosure and attach dehumidification hoses into the area to speed up the evaporation process rapidly. Since water extractors are likely to be unable to dry such a small space effectively, SERVPRO relies on closed-system dehumidification to dry. We may also need to assess the adjacent walls as well as the subfloor of your property to see how far excess moisture is traveling using Boroscopes.

Water heater failure can cause extensive harm in small spaces. Contact SERVPRO of Braun Station at (210) 267-2159.

SERVPRO van in parking lot Our certified technicians are ready 24/7 to handle your fire damage restoration. We have the expertise, equipment and experience.

Speed and Full-Spectrum Service Are Why SERVPRO Is San Antonio’s Fire Damage Solution

A fire in your San Antonio home is a crisis, hard to manage without professional skills, training, and experience. Many interrelated tasks need completion during a tight time frame, which is why our multi-certified team of disaster recovery specialists fits the requirements of a fire loss project so well. Rather than lining up various contractors who specialize in niche restoration areas, we can deliver a complete mitigation and remediation package with no delays.

Fire Damage Includes Water Damage

The instances where household fire damage in San Antonio do not have water removal as a first job are nearly non-existent. Firefighters use water and chemicals to knock down fires, and the resulting mess of dirty, debris and soot-filled water is an expected complication. Our crews count as members employees who hold certifications as either or both Water Damage Restoration Technicians (WRT) and Fire and Smoke Restoration Technicians (FSRT). Our ability to move seamlessly from water containment and removal to soot and smoke mitigation and remediation is why we complete fire damage projects successfully, on time, and following industry best practices.

Precautions Needed for Safe Fire Residue Recovery

Fire damage residues are highly toxic and corrosive, capable of discoloring paint and drywall, tarnishing metal, and etching ceramics and glass. When cleaning up after a fire loss, our employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). As we collect and contain the dangerous debris, our knowledge of local hazardous waste disposal requirements streamlines that part of the job. Limitation of the harmful effects of airborne chemicals, gases, and particulates is why SERVPRO typically uses a negative pressure air filtering scrubber system in work areas.

Rapid Mitigation and Remediation of Fire Damage

Significant deterioration occurs to surfaces beginning within minutes to hours of a fire. We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster, and this commitment is why SERVPRO receive high praise from our customers. We can scale up the number of crew members to ensure that evaluation of the different kinds of soot occurs quickly. We follow with prompt treatment, utilizing specifically matched cleaning products, tools, and methods.

Our dedication to creating a comprehensive and well-equipped fire disaster recovery team is why SERVPRO of Braun Station stands out in the region. Call (210) 267-2159 for assistance with all aspects of fire loss remediation.

Why SERVPRO for your Commercial Properties?

3/7/2019 (Permalink)

Whether you serve customers on a daily basis or work from a private office, protecting your facility from water damage is essential for smooth daily operations. The following preventative measures can prepare your building for spring showers to come. Here is what you should know about preventing flooding at your facility.

3 Ways to Avoid Water Damage in Commercial Properties

1. Schedule Basement Repairs

If your facility has a basement, don’t forget to periodically inspect it for foundation cracks or other issues. Make sure to have any cracks patched and caulked so the room isn’t flooded after the next heavy rainstorm. You can also install a sump pump to remove excess water as well.

2. Improve Landscaping

Property elevation plays a big role in your risk for water damage. You can avoid potential flooding by altering your landscaping to ensure that water flows downhill and away from the building’s foundation. Use downspouts to direct water away from the building as well. You should also schedule a property assessment to identify flood-prone areas and then work with a landscaper to fix these issues.

3. Clear Drains & Gutters

It never hurts to look at the weather forecast. When you know rain is on the way, double check that all gutters, drains, and downspouts are clear of leaves and other debris. This way, you won’t have to worry about clogs causing water to back up and leak into the building.

If your facility has been affected by water damage, contact SERVPRO of Braun Station in San Antonio, TX. Serving Bexar County and the surrounding areas, they provide a variety of cleanup and restoration services, including for damage from fire, water, and mold. Locally owned and operated, their IICRC certified team seeks to treat each customer as a friend of the family to give you the best quality service. Why Cross-training Matters in Water Damage Restoration Services here in San Antonio

Water damage can be debilitating. Private residents are more often than not ill-equipped to deal with large amounts of water and the longer it is left to sit the more likely it is to cause permanent damage. SERVPRO is a restoration company that has built its stellar reputation on professional handling of water and fire damages for commercial property managers and private residents. We are a local company with access to phenomenal resources thanks to our national franchises all over the US.

Water damage in San Antonio properties can often be the start of a long list of problems. The reason is that moisture can weaken structural areas of the home as well as its carpets, fittings, and furniture. Moist environments are also breeding grounds for secondary damages like mold growth or unpleasant odors. Here at SERVPRO, our technicians undergo intensive training to give them a broad working knowledge of different aspects of remediation and their knock-on effects.

A SERVPRO technician usually holds several certificates issued by the IICRC, and they bring that training into every service. Holding a certificate in odor control, for example, can be hugely beneficial during water cleanup. The same can be said for the assessment and remediation of mold which may be discovered during service. It is this broad range of expertise that differentiates our technicians from other providers.

Availability is the reason SERVPRO is the restoration service of choice for so many private residents and commercial property owners. We operate a 24 hour a day call line because we know that damages can be unexpected and happen anytime. Having the safety net of an emergency call line is essential to our customers. Because our technicians live and work local to the area, we can also promise to arrive on site within four hours of notification of loss.

Next time you experience property damages contact SERVPRO of Braun Station at (210) 267-2159.
