San Antonio Water Loss Recovery in Progress

The water leak from a split pipe soaked the ceiling and walls of this San Antonio home. Even as our SERVPRO technician is inspecting the wall cavity for hidden moisture, another is preparing to remove the hanging water damaged ceiling material. She can map the extent of the wet drywall with the flat, moisture sensor, which does not have pins that puncture the wall surface. Now we know how and where to begin the drying process. We can also monitor the progress with infrared thermal imaging and advanced moisture meters. From scoping to completion, "Like it never even happened."

Kirby, TX Water Loss Monitoring

Our SERVPRO technician has just inserted this moisture probe into a section of drywall that appeared dry after a damaging water event in this Kirby kitchen. The indication of 39.9% moisture content tells a different story. Typically, the reading should be about 6-12%, not higher. We monitor the drying process until we achieve the goal of restoring the wet area to its preloss condition. No guessing on our part, we are trained and employ advanced equipment to complete the job professionally, every time.

San Antonio Home Suffers a Water Damage

The attic air handler in this San Antonio home had a clogged PVC drain line. The safety pan overflowed with condensate and soaked the ceiling and trim as depicted in this Photo. Our SERVPRO of Braun Station team can safely remove the damaged building materials, then bag and discard them. We dry the slightly wet remaining material (we minimize the demolition) with several low-profile air movers and a dehumidifier to prevent the circulation of water vapor to unaffected rooms.

Bathtub Overflow in San Antonio 78228 Causes Major Water Damage

When the water from a second-floor bathtub overflow continued for several hours unabated, extensive damage to this home in San Antonio 78228 resulted. Gravity allows the liquid to penetrate and seep between the floors, affected the support structure and the building materials. The demolition is underway to remove the non-salvageable sheetrock along with the buckled laminated wood flooring. We can perform a controlled demolition to limit the build required to make our customers feel, "Like it never even happened."

Water stain on ceiling, purple walls in room

Water Loss in a 78216 San Antonio Home

Our SERVPRO team was called to deal with water damage in this San Antonio home—zip code 78216. As you can see, the water stain on the ceiling is much more than just a mark. The popcorn ceiling sheetrock has weakened and become a safety hazard. Upon entering the attic we discovered the air handler of the HVAC system was the cultprit causing the water leak. The catch pan under the unit was overflowing due to a clogged drain line. We suggested to our customer to keep a few tabs of chlorine in the pan to inhibit the growth of algae which readily plugs up the PVC drain pipe. Our restoration job was to do a controlled demolition of the non-salvageable section of the drywall ceiling panel. The following day we monitored the work, achieved our drying goals and buttoned up the hole, even new popcorn! “Like it never even happened.”

Our crew did a controlled demolition (flood-cut) of the crumbling sheetrock exposing the wall cavity for drying. Air movers and a dehumidifier are working to restore standard moisture levels to this area of the house. Homeowners rely upon our training, equipment, and products to restore their home to its preloss condition, "Like it never even happened."

San Antonio Plumbing Leak in 78219

A failed coupling resulted in pooling water in this  San Antonio bathroom. Our customer attempted to soak up the water from the cabinets and walls. Having realized that the walls and laminated cabinets were absorbing the water at an alarming rate, SERVPRO was called. We removed the sopping towels along with any visible water. We then set up several air movers and a dehumidifier to complete the drying which we verified with an infrared imaging camera and a moisture meter. Water cleanups are always more complicated than they first appear--be wise and call SERVPRO of Braun Station.

SERVPRO Technicians Use Both HEPA and Air Scrubber Technologies After Water Damage is Detected

In this photo, a HEPA vacuum is being used to remove debris from the cleanup after a kitchen sink and cabinet were removed.  The water damage was caused by a slow leak inside the cabinet, which had been leaking for an extended period of time, and the cabinet could not be restored.  While no mold was detected, an air scrubber was also employed to capture any potential airborne particles that might allow the spread of mold.
