Storm Damage Creates Water Extraction Need in Columbus Utility Room

This basement utility room in Columbus had a large amount of storm damage for SERVPRO techs to address. Instead of removing the water, the sump pump backed up and made more of a mess. The technicians extracted the water and scoped the loss area to determine all areas of water migration. They found excessive moisture in the sheetrock half-wall by the washer and dryer it required removal and disposal leaving only the framework. After extraction, the techs set up air movers to dry the basement rapidly and reduce the ambient humidity. This attention to detail helps ensure that secondary issues such as mold or foul odors are not a problem when the restoration services complete.
